Why is Exercise Important?

You are here to make a positive change in your life. No matter what stage you are currently at, we all aspire to walk down the street with poise and confidence; head held high, energy and purpose in your stride, and the ease of movement of youth. This self-assuredness stems from your awareness of your body's capabilities.

Think this: “if you don’t use it - you're going to lose it.” When you exercise, you gain muscle tone, lose bodyfat, and are at less risk of health problems like heart attack and type-II diabetes. The human body is designed to move. Active bodies develop stronger bones, joints, and connective tissues, heart and lungs function more efficiently and metabolism increases, thereby making it easier to burn off extra bodyfat.

There are 3 main types of exercises. Ones that build strength; they require low repetitions and high weight. Ones that build endurance; they require high repetition and low weight. And ones that build flexibility; these require pulling a muscle to the point of tension to increase its length and range of motion. All three are important for different reasons.

Given all that, it's most important to keep in mind that any increase in activity can bring about a positive change. GET OUT THERE AND GET MOVING!!!
